Dear Friends,
International Madani Association (IMA) takes its name and its inspiration from the city of Madinah, the community our Prophet (peace be upon him) built on faith, brotherhood, and justice for people of every background living side by side. IMA is a charitable, non-profit fellowship of the Indonesian Muslim diaspora that holds fast to the Prophetic principle, “The best of people are those who bring the most benefit to others,” and dedicates itself to preserving the Islamic faith and identity, upholding Indonesian culture and values, and raising a generation that contributes positively to the communities and nations it calls home.
Since the Istanbul Declaration of February 2025 and the ratification of its Constitution in 2026 as a registered company in Australia, IMA has grown into a global network present across the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. In each country in which we serve, IMA works to stand on a proper legal footing under the law of that country, so that all we do is carried out lawfully, transparently and accountably. Through our Human Resources, Education & Culture, Women Affairs and Youth Affairs committees, IMA extends its services day by day across religious, educational, cultural and social fields.
We believe that faith cannot remain a private matter while our community stands by merely as a spectator to the world around it. IMA therefore invests deliberately in its youth — through global gatherings such as the World Youth Conference and the World Youth Camp — so that our children, born and raised far from Indonesia, grow into confident young people, firm in their faith and at home in their heritage, and capable contributors to their societies: builders of mosques, schools and centres of learning in Berlin, Tokyo, London, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne and beyond, and a source of goodness for whomever they may be.
We believe, too, that good work grows through collaboration. IMA welcomes partnership with religious, educational and community institutions, with fellow diaspora organisations, and with governments and stakeholders alike, both in the countries we call home and in Indonesia. What is learnt in one country is shared with the others, while each local fellowship serves the people immediately around it. In this way, we hope that the presence of IMA brings real benefit, locally and globally alike.
We invite you to walk this journey with us and witness our services and goals firsthand. Your support, in whatever form it may take, is welcomed with an open heart and will be counted, in sha Allah, among the good deeds whose benefit continues to flow.
